Following last week, we went to the Hamilton Night Market in Chartwell which is held every Sunday!
What time is Hamilton Night Market starting?
Last time we went around 5:30 or 6:00 PM, and it was so crowded that it was difficult to walk.
So this time, we arrived in Chartwell a little earlier around 5:00 PM.
The official website of the Chartwell Shopping Centre announces that the market starts at 4:30 PM, but the Night Market’s Facebook page states it starts at 5:00 PM.
Wondering which was correct, but despite visiting earlier than last time, the parking lot was almost full💦
There were some spaces available in the outdoor parking lot on the second floor, but the covered areas were nearly full.
Perhaps many people were still shopping at Chartwell at that time.
This could be because the Sunday hours for the Chartwell Shopping Centre end at 5:00 PM, so when we arrived, the stores were just closing.
Since it’s clear that the night market attracts a lot of people, the shops might see more customers if they stayed open a bit longer.
However, they might intentionally set the closing time this way to allow for a turnover in the parking lot capacity.
What's New for Hamilton Night Market in Chartwell?
At the Hamilton Night Market on August 11th, we noticed that the location of the stalls had changed quite a bit compared to last time.
The booths selling miscellaneous goods at the front were mostly the same, but the food area had some noticeable differences.
Some stalls that were there last time were not present this time (I couldn’t find SKOFFLES which is my favorite croffle shop), and some had moved to different locations.
Also, it seemed like the number of tables and chairs for resting had increased!
I noticed some staff members in Night Market uniforms who were neatly arranging the chairs, making it feel more organized compared to the first time!
Delicious Korean Food: Not Bulgogi, but Bull Dogi!
We finally tried the cheese steak hot dog at Bull Dogi, which we had my eye on last time!
There were about four people ahead of me in line, but it took only about 10 minutes to get my order. So fast!
When you order, you're given a number card.
The lady at the front was efficiently taking orders and serving, and she even handed out small samples of bulgogi to people nearby.
She was incredibly quick and efficient!
In the back, the kitchen staff were stir-frying a large amount of bulgogi on the griddle, and the aroma was amazing. ✨
There were four menu options, and they all looked delicious...making it hard to choose.
But I went with the Cheese & Steak in a hot dog style. The rice bowl (donburi) comes with salad, corn, and pickles.
The rice bowl (donburi) comes with salad, corn, and pickles.
Since I’m not a big fan of jasmine rice, I’d love an option to just get the meat so I could take it home and eat it with my own rice LOL
It was very crowded this time too, so we took all the food home to eat, and…
this BULL DOGI’s bulgogi was incredibly delicious!!
And it’s huge!!
The amount of meat is impressive—there’s so much of it!✨
And the cheese has a rich flavor that pairs perfectly with the bulgogi…!
It’s quite rich and filling, so I think it would also go well with some thinly sliced or minced onions, Korean pickles with a bit of tartness, or fresh toppings like lettuce to add some acidity or freshness.
Just one of these will fill you up… It’s a very satisfying dish!

Sweets to Enjoy at Hamilton's Night Market
There were so many people this time that I couldn’t take many photos, but there were stalls selling cotton candy shaped like Pikachu and Minions,
as well as crepes, ice cream, bubble waffles, and fruit skewers!
The fruit skewers seemed especially popular, as I saw many people, particularly girls and kids carrying them around.
There was also a stall selling glowing balloons, Belgian waffles, and homemade cakes, so we bought a Belgian waffle and a cheesecake to take home.
The cakes were packed in container boxes and cost $10 each.
The Belgian waffle came with chocolate sauce and was $8, but we found the chocolate sauce a bit too sweet for our taste… (@_@) lol
If you love sweets, try them!
The cheesecake, on the other hand, was light and refreshing, with a slightly bitter caramel sauce that was just right!
Hamilton's Night Market is held every Sunday at Chartwell!
Since this was only the second time it was held at Chartwell, the crowd was massive, so I think I’ll try going later next time!
If you’re ever in Hamilton, be sure to check out the Night Market and find your favorite stall! (・ω・)ノ
