Cozy Apartment Hotel with Excellent Access in Auckland
First, let's talk about the location. Roomie Apartment Hotel is situated about 15 to 20 minutes by car from Auckland’s CBD.
Hotels located in the heart of the CBD can sometimes feel unsafe at night, with noisy crowds and partygoers.
However, Roomie is in a quiet residential area just outside the CBD, providing a peaceful stay.
Even without a car, Avondale Station is just a 5-minute walk away and the route from the station is a straight path, making it incredibly easy to access by train.🚃

On Rosebank Road or the adjacent Great North Road, you'll find a variety of cafés, restaurants, banks and general stores, making it a convenient area for your stay.
Spacious Rooms at a Reasonable Price in Auckland
Even in Auckland, Roomie Apartment Hotel offers self-contained apartments that are twice the size of most, providing plenty of space at an affordable price—making it a great option for both short and long stays.
We stayed for one night (Saturday-Sunday), and despite booking only a week in advance, we secured a King Studio for just $166 NZD per night (including GST)!
The price included on-site parking and free Wi-Fi.
The King Studio was incredibly spacious, allowing plenty of room to open large suitcases.
In addition to a comfortable sofa and coffee table, there was also a separate table and chair, making it a great space to relax or work.
Here’s the view from our window! Although it’s within Auckland, the area is surrounded by greenery, offering sights of a nearby school and a spacious jockey club.
We also received a voucher for a nearby café, which was a nice bonus!
The next morning, we could get one free coffee when ordering something at the partnered café. ☕
Stay Like a Local: The Charm of a Kitchen-Equipped Apartment Hotel
One of the best features of Roomie Apartment Hotel is that all rooms come with a full kitchen.
Each kitchen is equipped with an oven, refrigerator, dishwasher and oven, along with essential dishes and basic cooking utensils.
This makes it an excellent choice for long-term stays, allowing guests to enjoy a comfortable, home-like experience.
According to the story on their website, Roomie Apartment Hotel was completed during the COVID-19 lockdown, making it a relatively new hotel. During the lockdown, it served as a safe shelter for over 400 people, providing them with a secure place to stay.
In the tea set, complimentary coffee and tea bags were provided, and the fridge even had individually packed milk for coffee—another small but thoughtful touch!
Clean Shower, Bathroom, and Toilet in Roomie Apartment Hotel
The bathroom and toilet were spotless and well-maintained.
Here’s the toilet in our room. It seems that yellow was the theme color for this room, giving the space a bright and positive atmosphere.
The bathroom was stocked with shampoo, conditioner and body soap, while the hairdryer was neatly stored under the sink.

Roomie Apartment Hotel actively supports local New Zealand businesses, communities, and artists.
Throughout the hotel, including the lobby and rooms, you can enjoy vibrant, nature-inspired artwork that reflects the spirit of New Zealand.
They also offer pet-friendly rooms, which include pet beds and bowls, making it a great option for travelers with pets.
From the parking area, I noticed the balcony of the Pet Lovers Studio on the first floor, which has direct outdoor access.
This thoughtful design ensures a comfortable and enjoyable stay for guests with dogs!
2-Bedroom & 3-Bedroom Options – Ideal for Families & Groups
According to the Roomie Apartment Hotel website, they also offer 2-bedroom and 3-bedroom apartments.
These rooms include two or three private queen bedrooms, along with a shared kitchen and open lounge area, making them a great choice for multi-generational family trips or group stays of 4 to 6 people.

Booking via Agoda
This time Agoda had the lowest price, so we booked through their platform.
I actually made a mistake and accidentally booked the wrong date, but after calling Agoda’s customer service, they negotiated directly with the hotel.
Thankfully, they managed to change my reservation without any extra fees or cancellation charges(; ･`д･´)。
I often use Agoda because it allows me to collect points and has a user-friendly app.
However, if you book directly through Roomie Apartment Hotel, they offer exclusive perks such as free snacks.
I recommend comparing prices, stay conditions, and benefits before making a reservation.
